    ELTON JOHN ICE CREAM
    7/15/2008
Ben & Jerry's is teaming up with The legendary Elton John in raising money for the Elton John Aids Foundation, and to recognize the artist's first show ever in Vermont on July 21st, with the creation of its newest flavor, Goodbye Yellow Brickle Road. The limited edition flavor has been described as "an outrageous symphony of decadent chocolate ice cream, peanut butter cookie dough, butter brickle and white chocolate chunks." Better keep an eye out though, because it's only going to be available in Scoop Shops in Vermont from July 18 - 25, and on July 21 at the show at the Green Mountain State's Champlain Valley Expo Center. All proceeds will go to the Foundation. For more info, read the Press Release HERE.

    BAND TO RELEASE "CHOCOLATE" SINGLE
    6/25/2008
The band INNERPARTYSYSTEM have come up with a pretty neat marketing idea: chocolate singles. Yep, you read that right. The band has "pressed" a limited edition of 100 copies of their single "Don't Stop" as a chocolate, UK-only Limited Edition release, and apparently it can actually be played by a regular turntable/recordplayer. The band has posted a video about the whole thing on their MySpace Blog. The discs will be made available on June 30th, so if you're in the UK, get ready!

    GEOFF TATE CREATES "INSANITY"
    6/3/2008
Queensryche's Geoff Tate has been working on a new endeavor, creating himself a new wine called "Insanity". Working with winemaker Holly Turner and the Three Rivers Winery, Tate has come up with his new red variety over the past few years and is expected to be available this fall. Tate will be playing a special solo performance at the winery for their "Music on the Lawn" series on September 20th, where "Insanity" will be released and available for purchase. For more information about this performance, and how to get in on it, check HERE. For more information about Tate, and his winemaking efforts, see the Three Rivers Winery Blog and read what they're saying about it.

WHOLE FOODS, YOUR NEW RECORD STORE?
    5/6/2008
Apparently, as Starbucks has decided to throw in the towel for now and put their music sales ideas on the back burner, Whole Foods has done the exact opposite. The organics and natural foods retailer is now venturing into retail CD sales as the sluggish economy has affected the sale of pricey organics. So now with CD sales, and some of the stores offering live acoustic music some nights, could this turn into something interesting for Whole Foods? You can read more about it HERE, and then check out the Whole Foods near you.

    STARBUCKS UNVEILS NEW BLEND
    4/10/2008
Okay, so Starbucks coffee technically doesn't have anything to do with music... or does it? Considering the numbers of our favorite musicians who are hooked on the brand-name coffee, and Starbucks trendy shops, we thought it was worth including for all you die-hard Starbucks-addicts. Just unveiled, Pike's Place Roast, supposedly countering complaints that Starbucks coffees are bitter and taste burnt. For a limited time, too, you can get some for free. Check it out HERE.

TOOL's MAYNARD JAMES KEENAN IS REALLY INTO HIS WINE
    4/4/2008
Co-founder of the band Tool, lead singer Maynard James Keenan, and business partner Eric Glomski, of Page Spring Cellar, an Arizona winery, will be doing a bottle signing of their locally-produced wines Caduceus, Merkin, and Arizona Stronghold. The signing will take place Wednesday, April 9th from 4:00 - 9:00 pm at the Whole Foods Market in Scotsdale, AZ. Keenan has been involved in winemaking for a number of years now, he and Glomski owning Caduceus Cellars & Merkin Vinyards.

    3/3/2008
Just when you thought John Lennon's dream of peace and harmony couldn't get any sweeter, Ben and Jerry's introduces as one of their new flavors for the season "Imagine Whirled Peace".
